“No act of worship is accepted without Tawhid"

Naaib Bello AbdurRahman has reminded muslims that no act of worship is accepted without Tawhid, the unification of Allah.

Naaib Bello AbdurRahman gave this reminder during the Spiritual Night organised by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan (MSSNUI), on Thursday, 29th May, 2025.

Speaking on the topic, “The Prime Consultant", he explained the link between Tawhid, Aqeedah, Iman, and Ikhlas. He defined Tawhid as affirming Allah’s oneness in Lordship, Worship, and Names and Attributes. Scholars differ in its categorization, with some listing three aspects and others two, but the key point, he stressed, is unifying Allah in worship.

While many affirm Allah’s existence and attributes, he said, it is the worship of Allah alone that truly sets a believer apart. This, he added, is the very purpose of mankind and jinn, as mentioned in Surah Adh-Dhariyat.

Quoting a hadith from Abu Hurayrah, Naaib AbdurRahman said whoever has faith the size of a mustard seed will not remain in Hell. Most people who enter Paradise, he added, will do so by Allah’s mercy through Tawhid even if they have sins.

Naaib AbdurRahman also highlighted the worldly benefits of Tawhid, including peace of mind, emotional stability, and clarity. A sound heart leads to a sound body, he said, referencing a hadith by Nu’man ibn Bashir.
